Obsidian is IMO the best note taking app / framework out there. It is insanely flexible and can be adjusted to everyones needs. It is similar to Notion in many ways, but you OWN everything. It is all Markdown files, which any Editor can read (with Notion you are locked in and they own your notes).
super cool to see all of your notes structured and see relationships that are not obvious.
Obsidian vs Notion
the idea is similar, the execution totally different. Obsidian comes out on top for me in many ways:
- you own your notes (markdown files on your drive)
- extremely customizable
- more features thanks to the huge community
- vim bindings (if you are into that :D)
- free
